Ann Arbor Web Development Firm, Switchback, Signs MichBio and Learning Care Group
Leading Michigan Organizations Choose Switchback for Content Management System Overhauls.
Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) August 20, 2008 — Web development company, Switchback has recently added MichBio and Learning Care Group to their client roster. Both companies have chosen Switchback to migrate existing websites to a Drupal-based content management system (CMS).
MichBio is non-profit, statewide trade association, headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI. The organization is committed to building Michigan’s life science industry into a growth engine that will drive a revitalized economy.
MichBio has contracted Switchback to completely rebuild integrate its database and CMS, as well as extend the features and usability of the website.
“Switchback offered us a comprehensive package at a price that met our needs,” said Stephen Rapundalo, Ph.D., MichBio executive director. “They’ve done an excellent job of organizing the project and keeping it on track for an on-time launch of the new site.”
Headquartered in Novi, MI, Learning Care Group, Inc. provides early education and care services to children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years under its umbrella of brands: The Children’s Courtyard, Childtime Learning Centers, La Petite Academy, Montessori Unlimited and Tutor Time Child Care / Learning Centers.
For Learning Care Group, Switchback will stabilize its current website by migrating it to Drupal, a more reliable CMS.
“These projects show the range of needs we can accommodate,” says Mike Monan, co-founder of Switchback. “While both projects are large-scale, one requires a complete redevelopment of backend systems, while the other focuses on migrating existing functionality.”
Since the launch of Switchback in March of this year, the company has experienced rapid growth, signing ten clients and expanding its team by four. Switchback is actively seeking experienced Drupal developers for future projects. More information can be found on their website at http://switchbackcms.com“>http://switchbackcms.com.

What CMS/solutions did MichBio and Learning Care Group use before they decided that migrating to Drupal would be the best option. Interesting to learn what tools and approaches they choose to do the migrating and porting of existing features with Drupal.
We talked to a company recently who went for Ruby and the previous CTO lost control over the project - they burnt most of their funding and are now migrating to Drupal to see whether they can rescue the whole project. Feature wise its relatively easy coz many features exist as modules for Drupal - the main problem for this particular site is the member retention and marketing/PR challenge they are facing, due to downtime and not properly functioning features on the old site.
Main challenge for us is non-existing documentation
